Presentation of the Tool

A blog is the modern form of expression and opinion on the Internet. A blog is actually a website that is regularly updated with new material, same as is usually issued by a person, expressing thoughts or opinions in prose, with some even come to take the form of a personal journal. A blog is one of the tools used in digital communication over the network. In them the author collects and publishes information on a particular topic. There are countless issues and need not necessarily conform to one.

Use the Tool for Teaching

Blogs offer many possibilities for use in educational processes. For example, to encourage students to: write, exchange ideas, work in teams, to design, visualize instantly what they produce, etc. Creating Blogs by students offers the possibility of requiring teachers to perform synthesis processes, because writing on the Internet should be timely and accurate, in the topics covered.

Teachers can use blogs to reach out to students in new ways, without having to limit their interaction exclusively to the classroom. For example, publishing materials immediately and allowing access to information or resources to carry out projects and classroom activities, optimizing the time. It also offers students the opportunity to improve the academic content, enriching them with multimedia elements such as video, sound, images, animations or other Web 2.0.

The blog for the educator can serve as a window of information and opinion on the matter or elements of their workplace. For students as a forum for opinion and window to show their progress in a given activity, subject, etc.

Youtube

YouTube is web tool that can be used in classes in order to explain any topic at any subject because you can find a lot of different videos about everything.
In my personal case I’ve used YouTube for teaching Science (Solar System, Mass, Energy), Math (addition, subtraction, mayan multiplication, graphs), Social Studies (colonies, American conquers, Colombian history for kids). So it’s a really useful tool in which you as teacher can trust but make sure you watch the videos before you show them, you never know what could happen.
